Blood Bowl!!!

 Blood Bowl!!!

While I have not played the 2020 version, as I was happy with the LRB 6 version, I do like that there were a couple of new teams that were created for the game.  I have added a few to my list of teams that are available for those that play in the league that I run occasionally.

Some player positions names have been changed and some positions have been added to certain teams as well.  Nothing that was changed was meant to make one team feel over-powered compared to any other.  The three tiers of team strength is still used.

The 30 teams that are available to play are:  Amazon, Black Orc, Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Chaos Pact, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Elven Union, Goblin, Halfling, High Elf, Human, Imperial Nobility, Khemri, Khorne, Lizardman, Necromantic, Norse, Nurgle, Ogre, Old World Alliance, Orc, Skaven, Slann, Snotling, Undead, Underworld, Vampire, Viking, Wood Elf

Five Parsecs From Home Campaign - Introduction

Having recently ordered Five Parsecs From Home from Modiphius Entertainment, I was looking forward to some solo adventure wargaming.  I wanted to loosely base my characters on the Star Wars races and places, as well as some other sci-fi from movies, tv shows, books, and video and board games.

On the fringes of the star wars galaxy past the planet of Endor is a system known as the Semtross system.  The planet Semtross III is where the characters will start out on the adventures.

To create my crew I went with the standard method of...

  • 3 Humans
  • 2 more Humans or Primary Aliens
  • 1 Human or Bot

Jillanix Thoon (Captain)
A human born on the planet Worlorn, the thirteenth and furthest planet from the Semtross sun.  Raised in the enclave of Halek, where she became a troubleshooter for a small trading company.  During her time there she gained many credits for her "effective" work.

Equipment - military rifle, glare sword, communicator

Crux Kaletrys
A human born on the planet New Gallifrey, the seventh planet of the Semtross system, but raised on a war-torn planet far from his birth place.  He joined a the rebellion when he turned eighteen and has now returned to the Semtross system under the orders of General Leia Organa to assist anyone opposed to the Empire.  He joined up with Jillanix soon after arriving back in the Semtross system.

Equipment - military rifle, hand gun, nerve adjuster

Darwina Ward
A human born far from the Semtross system, but the location has not been shared by her.  She was originally working at a research outpost when it was attacked and nearly everyone was killed by pirates.  She was pushed into a escape pod by one of her colleagues and launched before they were killed.  She became a bounty hunter after she recovered and has been hunting down the pirates responsible for the attack and bring the in face their crimes.  She is motivated by revenge for what has happened in her life.

Equipment - needle rifle, loaded dice

XR-41
Rescued from the trash heap by Jillanix and Crux and repaired.  Not much is known about XR-41, other than it seems it was meant to be a scout type bot, but with some military programming installed.

Equipment - rattle gun, colonial rifle, displacer

Tali Kendru
A human born and raised on the planet of Coruscant.  As she grew up, she became eager to explore more than her home planet.  She travelled around briefly before hooking up with Jillanix and her crew when they stood up for her after some stormtroopers tried to arrest her for a very minor incident.  She always looking on the bright side and is loyal to the crew.

Equipment - needle rifle

Ha'li Culk
A Chiss born on the planet of Csilla.  Originally part of  a crew of a long distance frieghter, she ended up on Semtross III where she joined her current crew.  She shows very little emotion and stays quite level headed no matter the level of trouble and it has kept her alive through thick and thin.

Equipment - rattle gun, beam pistol

Ship
Starless Night - a YT-2400 worn freighter.  The crew refers to the shop as the Starless most times.

Debt
Current - 25

I have enjoyed the Star Wars X-wing Miniatures Game since I first picked up the starter set, well two sets actually.  Enjoying the movies, especially the original trilogy, made me want to play out some battles between the ships and characters you see on the screen.  Later I found a way to play solo or with friends (but on the same side) against the AI opponent, the amazing Heroes of the Aturi Cluster supplement created by Josh Derkson.  After that I found that I could create some of my own upgrade cards and pilots for the game using Strange Eons.

I have enjoyed creating cards for fun and for use when playing.  Some of the cards I created with Strange Eons were from ideas read online, creations by other people, and some of my own as well.  I just liked them and made them for myself to enjoy, not trying to make money or steal ideas, just thought they were good and wanted to make cards.

Here are a couple of cards I made using the program.  There may be some that are already done by Fantasy Flight Games, but I did not have access to them, so I created them.  Here are a couple of cards from the Astromech category.

I will post a couple of cards now and then, whether both from the same category, or from different ones.

And Remember... Game On!

Games, games, and more games

Well, I guess the title says a lot, but not enough at the same time.  In this blog I hope to show some gaming goodness that will include; games played, campaigns, AAR's (after action reports), thoughts, ideas, as well as new cards and rules, etc. that may have been added and/or used for the games.

A few of the games that I hope to have appear on this blog include, but not limited to:
  • Star Wars X-wing Miniatures game
  • Star Trek Starship Combat Tactical Simulator
  • Blood Bowl
  • DungeonQuest
  • Fortune and Glory: the Cliffhangers Game
  • Zombicide
  • Frostgrave
  • Space Empires
A lot of what I will post here is for myself as much as anyone who reads it.  A place to see what I enjoy doing, and remind myself to play more often.

Game On!
